Hello, my name is Greg McDougal. These days I enjoy introducing myself as a “recovering
musician”. There was a time however, when I was writing songs for EMI Nashville and
pursuing a record deal (I was working with Henry Paul of BLACKHAWK as my producer
and with Tim DuBois of Arista records.) I even had a song recorded by Atlantic Recording
artist John Michael Montgomery.

I soon discovered though, that God had a different plan than the one I had so carefully
laid out. It was about this time that our first son was born with a hole in his intestinal
tract which required surgery. He was subsequently diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis, a
genetic disorder which affects the mucus membranes in the body, primarily the lungs,
liver, intestinal tract and pancreas.

Looking back, I can see that in times like these God does His greatest work. Priorities
change and life takes on a whole new meaning! Without going into details, I know that
God, by His grace, mercy and infinite wisdom, caused me to walk away from what seemed
like certain success in the music business.

Since then I have been working as a self-employed home repair contractor and I marvel
at God’s perfect orchestration in our lives. We now have four beautiful children, three of
which have been diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis and each one of them is God’s gift of
miracles to us.

The motivation for this letter is my children. Due to recent complications with our oldest
son’s health, I need to provide them an allergen free house. During the past seven years of
raising these children, my wife and I have become somewhat the experts in respiratory
health. We’ve learned the hazards of allergens, such as mold and bacteria, in carpet,
improper duct work and ventilation. All of this leaves me with some special needs for my
kids that I could financially manage in three or four years, but that could prove to be a
detriment in our situation.

Therefore, according to what I’ve learned about stewardship and multiplying my God
given talents, I have begun a project that I hope will help others and ultimately benefit
my family. I am recording 12 songs and once the CD is finished, I’ll offer it at a fair market
price on my web site and other appropriate venues. Part of the proceeds will go to the
Nashville Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the rest of the money will go to
building a house for my kids.

Jon Conley, who has been the guitar player for Lee Ann Rimes for the past three years, has
agreed to co-produce and perform on the project along with providing full use of his all
digital “Pro Tools” recording studio near Music Row. I also have other musicians ready to
participate such as Angelo Collura (drummer for Lee Ann Rimes) and Tere Bertke (former
bass player for Blackhawk). This project idea has taken on a life of its own and in so many
ways God is blessing our efforts. Once the project is complete, I am hoping that I can get
you and everyone else I know, to go to the web site and purchase this CD, then tell all your
friends and family to do the same.

Thank You and God Bless!
